Proper care allows them to perform well in regions with freeze-thaw cycles.
Care: Winter freeze-thaw cycles can cause water inside to expand and crack the planter. The best practice is to store them in a dry location, away from the elements. To prevent clogs in the drain holes, cover them with a mesh screen. Fill the bottom with non-porous drainage material, then add a well-draining soil mix.
